Ginger Cove

Thomas Dredging was hired by the Ginger Cove Common Area Company for their Lake Improvement Project to deepen the main sections of the lake, including the “Skinny River” channel. We were also hired by several individual homeowners to deepen various coves at Ginger Cove, who also desired to increase the lake’s recreational value, improve boat access, and enhance water quality and clarity.

Thomas Dredging provides ‘fill dredging’ support for Western Sand in several aspects of their business. We create areas for Western’s larger dredges to begin additional mining operations. Recently, we created a five-acre lake, into which Western Sand placed a new 400-ton, 20-inch dredge, for the start-up of their Sand Creek mining operation. We have also done a variety of fill dredging projects for Western Sand as a part of reclamation on worked-out mine sites ahead of development.

Woodcliff–Lake Tirawa

We were hired by Woodcliff Lakes to deepen Lake Tirawa, one of their two lakes, by removing almost 65,000 cubic yards from both the large cove and main areas of the lake. Their objectives included increasing recreational use, improving boat access, and enhancing water quality due to sediment buildup over its 40 years of existence.  The designated disposal location was on an island in the center of the lake, which was achieved by using our barge to float the necessary equipment to the island.
